You don't see a full rainbow very often but we had a great show in Silverton on 8/6/08.
This was actually a double rainbow but the other one was too faint. When I first went outside to see it, the color on the main rainbow was the deepest, most vibrant I've ever seen in a rainbow. By the time I got the camera going, it had faded a fair amount. Still you can see it well. (And you can see a spot of water on the camera lens as well (upper right). The river is right under the rainbow...between the mountain and myself.
And since there is rain here almost every day, look at the rain falling in the distance just before dusk. Very pretty. Even more striking when you are sitting and enjoying the mild weather with mountains on all 4 sides.
