I spent all day at networking events. It started with Choose Austin First in the morning. The meeting was WAY on the other side of town, so I had to get up extra early to make it. Thankfully traffic wasn't as a disaster as I was expecting, so I got there in record time. I can't stand being stuck in traffic as it's just wasted time. The meeting itself was good. During my website report, I told everyone about my dad's memorial site, encouraging them to go check it out. After working the crowd a bit, I was off to my next meeting.
I had a break before my next meeting, so I decided to chill at my new favorite coffeeshop, 360 Primo. It's a cute little place in the Arboretum... with free wireless, of course! The coffee is great, the furnishings are nice, and it's Austin-owned. Plus, it's not that far from my house. The only thing that would make it perfect is if the scenery was better. So I'll still be heading down to Little City by UT's campus, where the people watching is more entertaining.
Since it was Tuesday, lunch was spent at The Business Connection. It was a pretty small meeting this week, with only eight people in attendance. For some reason, people just don't come out when the weather is bad. I can't understand that, since the lunch is pre-paid... you better believe I'll be there!
After another hour or so at 360 Primo, I headed over to a prospective client meeting. It started out like a normal meeting, but through the course of our two hour conversation, we realized we had a lot in common. Even though I'm priced a little higher than his current provider, the combination of the service I can provide with a personality that really clicks, we'll surely be doing some work together.
Finally, I drove downtown to the monthly AGLCC meeting. We had our meeting at Sidekicks, with tables setup on the dance floor. For some reason, whenever we hold the meetings downtown, attendance is lower. There were just 35 people there, while there is usually closer to 60. It didn't matter too much, as it was still a fantastic meeting. I'm very excited about the marketing committee, as we're making great progress on putting together the marketing plan. Hopefully our forthcoming branding meeting will continue our productive streak.
