As I talked about in my first blog entry, my father passed away in March. He was an unbelievably successful and talented business man, having spent many years working the grocery industry... eventually going into consulting and flying all around the world creating success for his clients. He had just been made senior partner at The Partnering Group before he passed. He was truly a jewel of their organization.
Their annual meeting is this week in Miami. My family received an email from my Dad's former business partner telling us about the tribute created in my father's honor:

"The Flannigan Award"
Purpose: To recognize Partners that demonstrate extraordinary leadership, team spirit and commitment for the betterment of other Partners, the firm and themselves.
This award will be "reviewed periodically and only rewarded when extraordinary behavior is exhibited" by a Partner who consistently demonstrates the qualities that were so important, and, seemingly came so easy to Tim:
Leadership: Guided by principles and good judgement, a role model for other Partners and clients.
Team Spirit: Unselfish behavior. Always willing to assist others. Reliable and driven by collective vs. individual benefit.
Commitment: Devoted to the firm and ensuring its success. |
It makes me really happy that this exists. My Dad deserved so much from the industry he quite literally helped create. Since he died so young, he was never given the chance to enjoy his successes. Now Dad himself is the representation of success and I hope to achieve the same in my career.
